B is for Bras – Buy the right one for Beautiful Breasts

Bras – they’re part of our lives, just as our breasts are part of our bodies.  Some of you out there are small-breasted and can wear those sexy, seductive pieces of cloth that look pretty and fit well.  Then there are some of us who are more generously endowed and we need something that will fit comfortably and hold us up well.  Studies have shown that 80% of women are wearing the wrong size bra.  Wearing a bra that is uncomfortable and makes you look saggy and droopy makes you look old and feel old, and that’s not what being a youthful, juicy naturally beautiful woman is about.  We’re all about feeling good and looking good!

Choosing a bra can be as daunting as choosing the right college or career or soulmate!  There’s nothing sexy about pulling and pushing your breasts and bras to get rid of those straps digging into your shoulders or adjusting the fat hanging over your back.

Here are some signs that you’re wearing a bra that doesn’t fit well:

  1. Your cups spilleth over.
  2. The back of your bra rides up.
  3. Tight straps that hurt and give you indentations or red marks on your shoulders.
  4. The cups ripple and dimple indicating they’re too small.
  5. Saggy or droopy breasts.
  6. Straps that slip and slide off.
  7. Uncomfortable underwires.
  8. According to Susan Nethero, a bra expert that Oprah loves — Back fat doesn’t necessarily mean your bra is too small.  It actually means your bra is too big!  Change to a smaller band size bra that rides lower on your back and that will eliminate the dreaded back fat.

One thing you can do to make your breasts look a bit more perky is to sit and stand up tall and straight.  Good posture is one of the most important ways to look young and vital.

Then walk tall to the nearest department store and go to the bra department.  Most lingerie departments, especially in higher end stores, will give you a free bra fitting.  Even if you have to pay a few dollars, it’s a great investment.  You’ll be surprised at the change in the number and the change in your look and feel.  Being beautiful (and comfortable) is worth it!

A is for Anti-Aging — It’s not All About Attitude

What makes a naturally beautiful woman of any age look, feel and act younger?  It’s all about attitude!  Yes, what’s inside your mind, body and soul are what make you vibrant, alive, sexy and youthful.  And a little help with the outside doesn’t hurt either!

Having an open mind keeps your whole body active and healthy.  One of the best ways you can improve your anti-aging ability is to change your attitude and stop acting and behaving like an old fuddy duddy!  Smile – you’ll look younger (and you’ll feel a lot better too!). Get some sleep because without enough sleep, you’re tired all day which makes the body produce excess cortisol, a hormone that disintegrates skin cells.  See Previous Post – S is for Sleep – Some Timely Tips for Sound Snoozing).

Here are some outward tell-tale signs of looking old:

Granny pants up around your waist or jeans that don’t fit and make muffin tops -

Wearing the wrong size bra – Back fat and saggy breasts or uniboobs – get a good fitting and get those girls up high and perky

Wearing clothes from Forever 21 when you’re forever 65.  Too much skin exposed, too tight or too short skirts, or too much cleavage hanging out – you’re not Britney Spears, you know!

Too much bling-y jewelry, too much jewelry of any kind – especially jewelry that doesn’t flatter your neck – Wattle necks are for turkeys, not NBW!  Wear some beautiful earrings that draw attention to your eyes and keep those chokers away from the wattle.

The little mistakes that we think people don’t notice – Long red nails or chipped and  discolored nails, roots showing or ashy-looking gray hair, teeth that are yellowing, cakey foundation that stops at your neck.  Lipstick spots on your teeth or lipstick bleeding onto the lines on your face.  All of these can be taken care of if we look into the mirror and pay attention.

What makes you look old is looking like you really tried too hard or else looking like you never tried at all.

What makes you look, act and feel young is what we’re all about here at Naturally Beautiful Women.  We’re back to the beginning with “A” again and we’ll be telling you all sorts of tips to live the best possible life you can – looking good, feeling healthy, being happy, staying motivated, and just plain enjoying life!

Z is for Zinc – JaZZ up your Zex life!

Oysters which look downright sexy, rank on the top on the list of aphrodisiacs, foods that can jaZZ up your Zex Life.   Other sexy looking foods like figs and truffles and chocolate syrup can zap up your zex life too!  Legend has it that Moctezuma, the Mexican Aztec king, drank up to 50 cups of chocolate a day to sustain his sex drive with his harem of 600 women!

Oysters are full of zinc, the mineral responsible  increasing your sex drive, for producing testosterone, and for maintaining progesterone levels, all of which have an effect on your libido. Lowered levels of zinc in a man’s body can lead to lower or no sex drive and lower sperm count.  Zinc can be an important factor in keeping a guy’s prostate healthy.  Research been shown that men with zinc deficiency are more likely to be impotent.

As for zinc and us naturally beautiful women, well as we get older we certainly don’t want our sex drive and libido to diminish and our juices to stop flowing.  So zinc is key in healthy senior women also.

Zinc’s got a lot of other health benefits.  It’s important for a healthy immune system and for  fighting skin problems such as acne, boils and sore throats.   Zinc keeps your hair, nails and skin healthy and helps to grow strong muscles.

There’s a shortage of zinc in a lot of people’s diet due to how food is processed these days.  Also our stressful lifestyle promotes fast depletion of zinc levels in the body. High levels of stress, as well as too much caffeine, smoking, and alcohol consumption increase the need for zinc.  A healthy dosage daily is 15 to 25 mg of zinc is recommended.  But keep in mind that too much zinc can be too much of a good thing – and cause adverse reactions and toxicity.

Foods that are rich in zinc:

  • Oysters and other shellfish
  • Chicken
  • Beef
  • Lamb
  • Brown rice
  • Eggs
  • Oatmeal
  • Cheddar cheese Cashews
  • Pecans & Walnuts
  • Peanut butter
  • Green leafy vegetables
  • Milk

Y is for You and Youth

“Youth is a wonderful thing.  What a crime to waste it on children.” George Bernard Shaw.

So maybe you’ve got a little silver on your head and a few wrinkles on your face, but when you get up in the morning you still feel like you’re only twenty-one.  Join the crowd!  We naturally beautiful and healthy senior women keep looking youthful for longer and longer.  But, we still feel tortured and put upon by the commercials and ads that play into the youthful culture and say that beauty is in the face of youth and once you’re old, you’re done.

But think about those wrinkles and how you got them.  Life hands you a lot — and the longer you live, the more time we experience the pull of gravity.  That’s got nothing to do with “ugly.”  Quite the contrary, it’s a beautiful sign of having loved, served, lived; of having all kinds of experiences, good and bad.

Young people are in for some great big surprises as they live their lives.  Remember when you danced naked and wildly at Woodstock with flowers in your hair?  Remember how we thought this was the best time of our lives, and it would never get better?  Would you really want to turn back the clock?  Would you want to have to be young and have to start all over again?  Think about that.  Aren’t a few wrinkles and a few gray hairs worth it?

We grow wise and we grow older.  We get more hair on our faces and less hair in other places.  Now the only time you see 3 AM is when you can’t get to sleep.  You’d dance all night, but your feet hurt and your back aches.  You can go without sex, but not without your reading glasses.  Your favorite song is now playing in elevators.

You can’t stop the clock, but you can change your attitude.  As Bette Davis said, “Old age ain’t no place for sissies!”

X is for Xanax – Natural Alternatives for AnXiety

When the stress of life really gets to you, don’t you just feel like just tearing all your hair out?  Bad hair days are just plain depressing for naturally beautiful women, HELP!!!

Western medical doctors will most likely prescribe a pharmaceutical drug for depression or anxiety.  And if you ever read those ads or watch those commercials, the side effects you can get from these will surely make you anxious and depressed –Dizziness, decreased libido, nausea, erectile dysfunction, confusion, blurred vision, drowsiness, decreased concentration – and the best side effect of all? – Depression.  Isn’t that why you went to the doctor in the first place?

This is just a list of the short-term side effects – imagine what would happen if you took Xanax or some other anti-depressant for a long time!

So what can you do when life gets to be too much?  Don’t worry – there are natural health alternatives that will lift you up and help you to get back on the road to wellness and happiness!

GABA (gamma amino butyric acid)–Reduced levels of GABA, the neurotransmitter that works to calm you down and relax, have been shown to bring on symptoms of severe stress and anxiety.  Supplementing with GABA can have naturally tranquilizing effects.

Ashwagandha– An Ayurvedic herb which can help your body to adapt and reduce the mental and physical signs of stress.

L-Theanine–Another valuable neurotransmitter found in green tea, L-theanine works on the brain to reduce mental and physical stress.

Valerian–Valerian (see previous post V is for Valerian vs. Valium) reduces the physical signs of anxiety and stress such as muscle tension and helps you get a good night’s sleep – valuable in fighting depression and stress.

Certain foods can help calm you down as well.  Turkey (think post-Thanksgiving dinner) and warm milk contain tryptophan (see T is for Tryptophan – Try it for Tranquility) which will make you very sleepy.  Almonds and bananas contain magnesium which relaxes your muscles and also helps to promote restful sleep.

So don’t reach for unhealthy pharmaceuticals such as XanaX when you need some help with depression or anxiety.  Go for some safe, non-toxic remedies and take care of your natural health!
