What’s up, Doc? Nothing – if you’re eating your carrots! Carrots are really good for you, and Bugs Bunny knew what he was talking about and eating!
Carrots are packed full of healthful things like minerals and – Vitamins A, C, D, E, K, B1 & B6. And minerals like calcium, phosphorous, biotin and magnesium and potassium. And just in case you’re not reaching for a carrot yet, there are plenty of carotenoids and antioxidants, and a host of phyto-nutrients to keep you healthy inside and out. Your eyes will love all the beta-carotene and zeaxanthin and lutein that help keep the optic system in youthful condition, with special protection against age-related eye problems like cataracts and macular degeneration.
Carrots are great for improving the immune system by increasing the number and effectiveness of white blood cells which keep you free from infections.
Carrots are also great to make masks for all types of skin, and will cut down on that other age-related consequence – less wrinkles! The antioxidants in carrots protect the skin from the damages caused by free radicals and keep your skin nice and health!
Smush some carrot puree on your face and for a more luxurious treat, add an avocado, cream and honey to your carrots and your face will shine and glow!
CARROT FACE MASK WITH AVOCADO
- 1 Medium mashed Avocado
- 1 Medium Cooked & Mashed Carrot
- 1/2 C. heavy cream
- 1 egg (beaten)
- 3 TBL. of Honey
1. Mix everything together until smooth in a medium bowl.
2. Smush it all over your face and neck.
3. Let the mask sit on your face & neck for about 10-15 minutes – no longer so it won’t discolor your skin.
4. Rinse all off with cool water and put on your favorite toner and then some wonderful homemade moisturizer.
