Kombucha is fermented tea that is often drunk for its health benefits. People who drink kombucha report benefits like enhanced wellbeing, increased energy and even weight loss.
Kombucha is a drink made from green or black tea combined with sugar with the addition of a live starter made up of a combination of yeast and bacteria that is said to be full of probiotics. Probiotics are live microorganisms that are made up of friendly bacteria and found to be beneficial to the gut and digestion.
Kombucha is said to cure a lot of diseases including arthritis pains, kidney stones, intestinal problems, rheumatism,digestive disorders, anxiety and stress disorders, high cholesterol, eczema, fatigue, asthma, bronchitis, insomnia, migraines and other headaches, constipation, diabetes, and dizziness. Some people even claim that kombucha can cure cancer and that it is perfect for anti-aging! Even President Reagan used kombucha to cure his stomach cancer in 1987, and then died of old age in 2004!
Here’s what you need:
- 1 kombucha culture
- 2 litres of water
- 3 or 4 tea bags or 3 or 4 teaspoons of tea (green, white, or black tea)
- 160 grams of white sugar
- 200 ml of kombucha from a previous batch as a starter or 2 tablespoons of cider vinegar if you don’t have any kombucha.
