I can’t help it – I just love Jamie Oliver and the Food Revolution. Finally someone has come along and stood up for the children of the world. Jamie is determined to improve the natural health of kids by going into schools and revolutionizing the school lunch menus.
Once again, Jamie and the Food Revolution will be right in the face of kids, parents, teachers and school officials. The Emmy Award-winning show, “Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution,” is back for its second season Tuesday night at 8:00 EST on ABC. This year Jamie is in Los Angeles and taking on the Los Angeles Unified School District – Good luck!
There’s a lot of staged television, of course, but the premise of the program – our kids are not healthy and need help – is what really counts. By making changes like Jamie suggests, school age children can fight the epidemics of obesity, diabetes, and heart disease that are the results of poor nutrition. If it’s the job of schools to educate children and make them better adults, then the very first thing that has to be done is to make sure they grow up to be adults - healthy adults. And that takes Good food, Good health, and Good nutrition. Maybe instead of the 3 R’s taught in school, teachers should be teaching those 3 G’s! Thank you, Jamie Oliver, for taking on this important challenge!
