Divine – delightful, delicious, deliriously talented Bette Midler!

I once worked at a spa in Beverly Hills where everyone who was anyone came to be pampered.  Gwyneth Paltrow and Natalie Portman and Patricia Heaton and Dustin Hoffman – you name it they came!  But no one stopped traffic and work like the time Bette Midler walked in – in a white tee shirt and jeans and her hair pulled back in a ponytail – no matter – she was divine!

From the early 70s at the Continental Baths in New York City to the Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas stage, Bette Midler has been the ultimate star, the supreme Diva.  Whether on the stage singing, or in the movies acting, Bette Midler has been an icon of America.

As if being one of the greatest stars we have ever seen wasn’t enough, in 1995 Midler wanted to give back to the city that found her and she founded the New York Restoration Project, a non-profit organization devoted to revitalizing neglected neighborhood parks in economically disadvantaged neighborhoods of New York City.  She and her group were responsible for halting the overgrowth of commercial development in NYC and took over control of 60 of the most neglected plots in rundown neighborhoods of NY. Today, Midler and her organization work with local volunteers and community groups to ensure that these gardens are kept safe, clean and vibrant and available to everyone.

Divine Miss M – delightful!
