Dr. Nancy Snyderman talked about aspirin and acne on the Today Show and said that you can make a paste of aspirin and water and put it on a blemish – and AbrAcAdAbArA (lots of A’s!!!) – the blemish will be gone.
There’s also been a lot of talk about putting an aspirin into a facial mask and putting it on your face – (make sure you do a patch test first to see if you are sensitive – there have been a lot of yea’s and nay’s on this one!) -
ASPIRIN, HONEY & YOGURT MASK FOR ACNE -
- 7-8 uncoated aspirin
- 3-4 TBL. Plain Yogurt
- 1 TBL. organic Honey
Directions:
Drop the aspirin in the yogurt and allow them to dissolve, then stir until it’s a smooth, thick paste that will adhere to your face.
Massage the paste over your entire face and neck, avoiding the eye area. Leave the mask on for 10-20 minutes, rinse with warm water, dry and apply your favorite moisturizer.
Oatmeal is a fabulous ingredient for homemade skin care. It absorbs and removes impurities and dirt and offers gentle exfoliation, leaving skin clean and feeling smooth, without having to use harsh soap. When used as an ingredient in a homemade facial mask, oatmeal deep cleanses pores without irritating and drying out skin.
Oatmeal can be combined with a variety of other ingredients to make great face masks – baking soda, egg white – and even tomato! Tomatoes are natural astringents that are helpful in remedying common problems like excessive oil in the skin. Tomatoes also can help to remove excessive oil from the skin and leave it feeling smooth and looking shiny.
