E is for Eggs – Excellent for Hair

Eggs for Your Hair's Natural Health and Beauty

Dry, dull, lifeless hair?  Frizzy and out of control?  Me too!  So now I’ve started to use eggs in my hair and the difference is awesome and Excellent!

Eggs are full of proteins and vitamins and minerals, all good for your hair.   They are also full of essential fatty acids that help to fight dandruff and provide moisture and nourishment to dry and damaged hair.  The Vitamins A, D and E in eggs  work to prevent losing hair, and the same powerful antioxidants they have that help you fight free radical damage inside your body also protect from the harmful effects of pollution, UV rays,  and chemicals outside your body and on your hair.

For an easy treatment, just mix an egg with water and coat your hair.  As with all hair masks, cover your hair with a shower cap and sit back and relax for about 15 minutes.  Rinse really well as leftover egg will start to smell!  And only use cool water to rinse egg out of your hair as hot water will cook the egg and make a terrible mess!

You can add honey, lemon, or yogurt for a great deep conditioner.  And while you’re at it, throw in an avocado or banana for richness – why not??

For people like me who are in water a lot like swimmers, surfers etc, a conditioner made out of eggs  mixed with a little olive oil and some peeled cucumbers will lessen the effects of chlorine and sun.  Spread it evenly on your hair and cover with a shower cap, leaving it on for 15 – 20 minutes.   Rinse it out with cool water thoroughly.
