G is for Gratitude – The First Step to Natural Health

I don’t think there are any words that can explain the all-loving, all-encompassing blessing of gratitude in our lives better than this beautiful video by Brother David Steindl-Rast, a Catholic Benedictine monk who has spent his life spreading the word of gratefulness.

With all the wars and other problems in the world today, we are challenged to see the good in the world.  Brother David teaches us that we can start to heal with the gift of gratitude and gratefulness to ourselves.  Just one smile at another person, one touch of a hand, one simple declaration of thanks for anything – these are the things that can change the world.

Brother David, through his organization Gratefulness.org is trying to change things, one smile at a time.

Today, just for a moment, put gratitude into practice – look in someone’s eyes – perhaps a clerk in a store, or a housekeeper or a gardener or a teacher – and say “Thank you.”  It doesn’t have to be for anything.

As Meister Eckhart, a German theologian, told us – “If the only prayer you ever say in your entire life is thank you, it will be enough.”
