J is for Jeans and Muffin Tops

Just Say No to Muffin Top Jeans

The person in the photo above is not looking naturally beautiful – do you think???

I am a devoted fan of What Not To Wear (http://tlc.howstuffworks.com/tv/what-not-to-wear).  I have learned so much from Stacy and Clinton.  I’ve learned that no matter what your size is, you can look hot and sexy.  I’ve learned that it pays to emphasize the smallest part of your body – the waist – and draw attention to it, instead of hiding it behind big clothes that just draw attention to the bigness.

And I’ve learned a lot about jeans.  We want to look naturally beautiful in our jeans because we’d love to wear them all the time.  But look around you and study women in jeans – Oh My Goodness what are you thinking?  Look in the mirror – does that “muffin top” around your waist actually look good to you.  What I’ve learned from WNTW and Stacy and Clinton is that jeans that are too high or too low can create this evil muffin top.  When jeans are too high around the actual waist, they push everything out over the top.  And jeans that have a super-low rise (which so many women seem to favor), create the muffin top.  If you don’t have a perfect hourglass figure and your waist looks bigger than the rest of your body, choose a different jean – one that sits just below the natural waistline and allows your waist to breathe and move naturally – and for goodness sake – don’t wear too tight jeans ever!
