Hi again! I’m back with a whole bunch of new ideas and inspiration about natural beauty and natural health for all of you great women (and men!) out there. Today’s a brand new day full of brand new beginnings to take care of yourself, mind and body and spirit – inside out and all around!
I’ve been halfway around the world and tried new foods and new products. I’ve seen how other people think about beauty and what they feel about food and I’m so excited!
While I was in Spain, I bought some real Moroccan Argan Oil and it really does work to keep your hair shiny and healthy. And while I was in France, I slathered my face and skin with local olive oil and my whole body feels like a baby! I tried an authentic Hamman and it was hot and steamy and holistically healthy! I took baths in Sea Salts that came straight out of the Mediterranean and it soaked away my stress and exfoliated my old dead dry skin.
I ate cheese that practically came right out of the cow that minute, and I drank wine made with the grapes I saw harvested. It was a great trip, and I’m glad to be back here and writing about it for all of you. I’ll start the alphabet again this week and we’ll have a blast from A to Z for you and me!
Argan Oil for Natural Health
There’s a not-so-new oil available on the market that is one of the best products you can use for your natural health and natural beauty. And not only is it good for you, it’s good for the women-run argan cooperatives in Morocco who produce it under the auspices of such companies as Argan Co-Op and Women’s Argan Collective who process and sell this Miracle Oil.
Argan oil is harvested by Berber women and sold on the fair trade market, making it very appealing to all of us naturally beautiful women who want to help all of the women of the world be healthy and independent! So valuable are the benefits of this oil and the benefits to the women and their families, that UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization) has established a reserve for the Argania and set up a women’s collective through which all Argan oil sold today is processed. The proceeds from the sale of this oil is shared amongst the local Berber women and also goes back into a reforestation project. The Argan Oil Society provides information about the who, what, where and why of argan at http://www.arganoilsociety.org/

Argan is Amazing for Natural Beauty
Argan Oil, this fabulous product from Morocco, has incredible restorative and age-defying properties. It is so full of nutrients that it slows down the degeneration of skin cells and helps to replace the old, dull, tired cells with healthy new ones. It is the best remedy against aging related wrinkles and crow’s feet.
Argan oil works by penetrating deep in to the follicles and roots of the hair and nourishing them with vitamins and anti-oxidants to promote healthy hair growth and shiny hair. Argan oil is a great natural remedy for split-ends, brittle and frizzy hair.
Argan oil contains essential fatty acids, Vitamin E, sterols, polyphenols and other important antioxidants. Argan oil is the plant oil with the highest content of vitamin E in the world, for example 3 times more than olive oil. The Vitamin E found in argan oil is a powerful antioxidant that helps fight the free radicals that can wreak havoc on hair over time, great hair tonic that fights against hair loss and dandruff.
Other possible benefits of this rich, moisturizing oil are said to be the stimulation of new skin cells, diminishing of wrinkles and reduction of the appearance of scars and stretch marks, relief from the itching and discomfort of eczema and psoriasis, and the reduction of age spots and adult facial acne. Even just as a moisturizer, argan oil is worth exploring!
Hamman Spa Treatment
Argan is used in the exotic steam treatment found in luxury spas around the world, called the Hamman. See Previous post – H is for the Hamman Spa Treatment – Hot and Heavenly.
Hamman - Hot and Heavenly Natural Health Treatment
The Hammam is a heavenly spa treatment that combines massage, oils, aromatherapy, and hydrotherapy all wrapped up in some of the most beautiful architectural design features. This tradition of a bathing retreat has evolved over thousand of years and can still be experienced in various Middle Eastern countries and now is spreading through spas in the US and other places.
A typical Hammam treatment begins with exfoliation of the body using a loofah dipped in a mixture of stimulating essential oils such as mint and lemongrass. This is followed by a hot steam shower where you are scrubbed from head to toe.
Next comes a total body wrap of mud or clay which will draw out any impurities from deep within the body, and then you will lie down and enjoy the hot steaminess of the warm Hammam air. While you are lying in this oasis, your scalp will be massaged with essential oils mixed into argan oils, a rich and nutrition-filled product from Morocco. Argan oil is harvested by Berber women and sold on the fair trade market, making it very appealing to all of us naturally beautiful women who want to help all of the women of the world be healthy and independent! Argan oil is becoming increasingly popular today as it is one of those wonderful natural oils that is beneficial for its anti-aging properties. It is high in Vitamin E and EFAs and is helpful for dry skin and wrinkles!
Once the mud is removed with soothing warm water, the rest of the body is massaged and hydrated with this wonderful Argan oil.
