Fashions change and so do ideas about size and figures and what’s a really beautiful body image for a naturally beautiful woman.
Both Marilyn Monroe and Christina Hendricks are voluptuous and luscious and yummy – and they are not size 2 or 4.
Christina Hendricks, star of “Mad Men,” loves her size. After being named by Esquire as America’s most beautiful woman last year, Christina said, “Back when I was modeling, the first time I went to Italy I was having cappuccinos every day, and I gained 15 pounds. And I felt gorgeous!
“I would take my clothes off in front of the mirror and be like, ‘Oh, I look like a woman’. And I felt beautiful, and I never tried to lose it, ’cause I loved it!”
Marilyn Monroe might have been a size 12 or a size 14 in today’s fashion world. A big difference between that image and the look of the starved, skinny shapeless models that grace the pages of today’s fashion magazines, or walk to runways of Bryant Park. Marilyn was not a clothes hanger. Marilyn was a curvaceous real woman with real curves.
How do you see yourself? Are you happy with your body image? Are you skinny? Are you curvy? What kind of naturally beautiful woman do you imagine yourself to be when you look in the mirror?
