C is for Coconut Oil – The Cosmetic Cing of the Citchen!

Coconut Oil could possibly be the best all-purpose product around for your skin and your hair!  We’ve said time and time again that your kitchen is full of fabulous fixes for natural health and natural beauty.  And coconut oil is tops on the list!  Coconut oil is anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial, and also anti-fungal so it will help clear up acne and prevent further blemishes

It fights against those dreaded free radicals caused by aging, pollution, smoke, sun and radiation and environmental pollution.  Coconut oil helps to keep the skin from developing age-related liver spots, and other skin discolorations that come with aging and over exposure to sunlight.  Coconut oil helps to keep the connective tissues supple and strong to prevent your skin from wrinkling and sagging.  It can even help the skin to restore damaged or diseased skin.  The coconut oil is absorbed into the cells of the connective tissue and into the skin and limits the damage that excessive exposure to the sun can cause.  This king of oils has also been studied and shown to aid in stress relief, maintaining cholesterol levels, heart diseases, weight loss, increased immunity, high blood pressure, dental care, bone strength, and assist in better digestion and metabolism.

And if that’s not enough to convince you to run out and buy some coconut oil (organic is best!), then how about coconut oil for your skin (I slather it all over my face morning and night!) and for your hair.  To make a nourishing, enriching and moisturizing homemade hair mask that will also help to repair split ends, all you need are two ingredients – Coconut Oil and Water!

Wet your hair.  Put a small amount of coconut oil into your hand and rub your hands together.  Run your fingers through your hair, making sure to cover everything from the scalp to the roots with the coconut oil. Cover your head with a plastic bag or a shower cap and secure it with a clip.  Wrap your whole head with a towel and sit back and relax.  Put your feet up.  Close your eyes and think wonderful thoughts!

Keep the coconut oil mask on for about 15 minutes and then rinse it out with warm water. Your hair will be lustrous, shiny, and fabulous!

C is for “Coconut” – Harry Nilsson 1971 – Put the Lime in the Coconut

See Previous Post:  C is for Coconut and its many uses for Natural Beauty

Brother bought a coconut, he bought it for a dime
His sister had another one, she paid it for the lime

She put the lime in the coconut, she drank 'em both up (3x)
Put the lime in the coconut, she called the doctor, woke him up, and said

Doctor, ain't there nothin' I can take, I said
Doctor, to relieve this bellyache, I said
Doctor, ain't there nothin' I can take, I said
Doctor, to relieve this bellyache

Now let me get this straight
Put the lime in the coconut, you drank 'em both up (3x)
Put the lime in the coconut, you called your doctor, woke him up, and said

Doctor, ain't there nothin' I can take, I said
Doctor, to relieve this bellyache, I said
Doctor, ain't there nothin' I can take, I said
Doctor, to relieve this bellyache

You put the lime in the coconut, you drink 'em both together
Put the lime in the coconut, then you feel better
Put the lime in the coconut, drink 'em both up
Put the lime in the coconut, and call me in the morning

Brother bought a coconut, he bought it for a dime
His sister had another one, she paid it for the lime
She put the lime in the coconut, she drank 'em both up
Put the lime in the coconut, she called the doctor, woke him up, and said

You put the lime in the coconut, you drink 'em both up (3x)
Put the lime in the coconut, you're such a silly woman

Put the lime in the coconut, you drink 'em both together
Put the lime in the coconut, then you feel better
Put the lime in the coconut, drink 'em both down
Put the lime in the coconut, and call me in the morning

Woo-oo, ain't there nothin' you can take, I said
Woo-oo, to relieve your bellyache, you said
Woo-oo, ain't there nothin' I can take, I said
Woo-oo, to relieve your bellyache, you say

Yeah-ah, ain't there nothing I can take, I say
Wow-ow, to relieve this bellyache, I said
Doctor, ain't there nothin' I can take, I said (3x)
Doctor, you're such a silly woman

Put the lime in the coconut, you drink 'em both together
Put the lime in the coconut, then you feel better
Put the lime in the coconut, drink 'em both up
Put the lime in the coconut, and call me in the mo-o-ornin'

Yes, you call me in the morning
If you call me in the morning I'll tell you what to do {repeat to fade}

C is for Coconut Oil and Its Many Uses for Natural Beauty

Pure virgin coconut oil is the best natural ingredient for skin lotion available. It prevents destructive free-radical formation and provides protection against them.  It can help to keep the skin from developing liver spots, and other blemishes caused by aging and over exposure to sunlight.  It helps to keep connective tissues strong and supple so that the skin doesn’t sag and wrinkle.  In some cases it might even restore damaged or diseased skin.  The oil is absorbed into the skin and into the cell structure of the connective tissues, limiting the damage excessive sun exposure can cause.

Just as coconut oil is perfect for healthy skin, so is it great for healthy, shiny hair.  Massage some in your hair after shampooing and watch  split ends repair and dry, brittle hair become luxurious.

Coconut oil is the king of oils when it comes to natural health.
