E is for Eyes – Essential Wide Eye Openers for Natural Beauty

Eye Masks for Natural Beauty

Open your eyes and look around you – it’s a wonderful world and you want to be awake and wide-eyed to be able to see it all!

However sometimes we all get droopy or bleary eyed or so tired that we can’t keep our eyes open.  The quickest and easiest way to refresh and revitalize your eyes so you look perky and not puffy is just to cut two thin slices of cucumber, lie back and put them on your closed eyes.  In just a few minutes you will look and feel like you had a great night’s sleep.

Puffy eyes with dark circles can make you look older than you are.  To get rid of those nasty undereye bags and tighten up that undereye baggage, try this.  Grate a cucumber and use it together with some carrot juice (or it works alone) and mix them up and apply to the area under the eye.  Let it sit for 20 minutes and then rinse off with cool water.

Or grate another cucumber, blend it up with some milk and cool the mixture in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.  Apply the cool mixture to the puffy bags under your eyes and let it sit for 20 minutes and rinse with cool water.

Sometimes when you’re feeling sluggish and tired and just can’t seem to get the energy together to do anything, your body might benefit from cleaning out the old waste and making room for some fresh vitality from natural health foods.

The quickest way to rid your body of toxins and bring in the nutritional benefits of some great vegetables is to make a green drink.

Dr. Oz on the Oprah Show says he makes a breakfast drink for himself many mornings that he calls his green drink. What’s in Dr. Oz’s green drink?

  • 2 apples
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon
  • 2 cups spinach
  • 2 cups cucumber
  • 1 head of celery
  • 1 bunch parsley
  • 1/2 inch or teaspoon ginger root
  • Juice of 1 lime

Servings: 3 – 4

In a juicer, put all the ingredients except the ice cubes in a juicer until done. Serve in your favorite martini glass, or whatever you want! Add the optional ice cubes at this point now that it’s finished.

On the Oprah Show, Oprah takes a sip and is pleasantly surprised. “It’s a glass of fresh,” she says.  If it’s good enough for Oprah’s natural health, you’ll agree it’s good enough for you!

C is for Cucumber for Cooling Your Eyes Naturally

We’ve all experienced tired, puffy eyes with droopy dark circles under them, right?  There’s a natural beauty tip that will help you relieve the swelling and reduce the puffiness instantly — and it’s right there in your refrigerator!

Cut a few thin slices of that cucumber in your salad bin. the  Lay thin slices of cucumber on your eyes, making sure they have contact with the skin under the eyes.   Leave them on for 5-10 minutes.  In no time at all, your eyes will feel awake, alert and refreshed.

There’s been a lot of reasons given for why cucumbers work so well to reduce the appearance of dark circles – the high water content in them, the level of hydrogen – the truth is cucumbers fresh from the refrigerator are cold!  And when you place them on your eyes, the coolness constricts the skin and the puffiness goes down!

If you don’t have cucumbers handy, don’t worry!  Just take a washcloth, run some cool water on to it, lie back and put the washcloth over your eyes.  Voila!  The puffiness, redness and dark circles will diminish!  Another natural health and beauty tip straight from your kitchen.
