D is for Devilishly Delicious Desserts – u Deserve ‘em!

Dessert Occasionally is Great for Natural Health

A reward for you and your natural health

Every now and then, even the most naturally healthy and conscientious of us need a reward and I say “Go for a Devilishly Delicious Dessert!”

I’m serious – Don’t opt for nonfat yogurt, please.  Or a low-calorie tasteless hunk of cardboard.  No – not this time.  This time (and only this time) go for the absolute most extravagant, most sinful, best, most fabulous dessert!

AND SHARE IT WITH YOUR LOVED ONES.  If you are at a restaurant, and that’s where you should be celebrating your beauty and health – share one piece of cake among your friends.  Half, a quarter – or if you’re alone, take home part of it!

Research shows that it’s really the first bite of something that is the most satisfying.  So savor that first bite.  Look at the dessert.  Smell the dessert, Touch the dessert if you want to.

And then slowly, with careful deliberation, pick up your fork or spoon (because by this time the ice cream is probably melting on the molten cake!), and put a piece in your mouth.  Let it roll around gently, hitting all the surfaces of your mouth and tongue.  Savor it.  Taste what is known as “mouthfeel.”  And then bid this delicious morsel goodbye and swallow it.

This is known as Mindful Eating and it is a form of meditation.  The slower you eat, the more you will enjoy.  With each bite you take, do this simple exercise totally and fully with all of your attention on each sense.

And then don’t do it again for a few weeks!  Life is too short not to eat Dessert – Just Do It Right!  Eat dessert first sometimes.  Eat dessert sometimes.  You Deserve It!

D is for Dessert – Eat it First!!!

Eat Dessert First

Life is too short – Eat Dessert First!

Creme Brulee

These are my favorite desserts – Tiramisu and Creme Brulee.  Okay, truth be told, I also love chocolate chip cookies.  So — if I know beforehand that I’m going to a really fabulous restaurants with absolutely wonderful desserts – what do I do????  You got it – I eat dessert first.

Now, you may say that a holistic wellness and natural beauty coach should not be doing things like this.  I beg to differ – Life it too short.  Every now and then you’ve got to have dessert – you’ve got to have your cake and eat it too!

I don’t believe in eating low-fat, low-calorie desserts.  To me, that’s just a waste of time and calories.  And I don’t find them really satisfying – not like a super rich slice of tiramisu or knocking off the caramelized top of a yummy creme brulee.

When times like this come — and trust me, they will – don’t eat dinner, just eat dessert!   (Just don’t do it too often – once or twice a year maybe – and then eat salads all the next day and drink plenty of water!)
