A is for Avocados – Again! This time for your Amazing Natural Beauty!

Avocados are Amazing for Natural Beauty

If you think avocados are great for your natural health, you’ll be amazed at what they can do for your natural beauty!  All that rich gooey fat that protects you from cancer and other diseases will enrich and moisturize and beautify your skin and your hair too!

For your dry skin, mash up the pulp of an avocado with a teaspoon of honey and a teaspoon of yogurt.  Smush it all over your face and leave it on for about 15 minutes.  Rinse off with warm water and apply your favorite natural moisturizer!  Your skin will glow!  You can change this mask by adding one egg yolk for a different kind of dry skin mask.

Avocados are ideal for getting rich, lustrous hair.  But you really have to take care to cream them well and wash all the nasty bits out of your hair (like bananas they tend to stick!).  For a great hair mask,  mash up half of an avocado with one teaspoon of olive oil, an egg white and a little bit of honey.  Mix until all the bits are out and the mixture is runny.  Apply to your hair, taking care to work it into the ends.  Let it sit for about 15 – 20 minutes before you rinse it out Thoroughly!!!!!  It may take 2 or more washes to completely remove the mixture.  But the results are worth it!

Let’s hear some Applause for Awesome Avocado Natural Beauty!

G is for Ginger – Get rid of Dry Skin

Ginger for Great Natural Beauty

Ginger, that ugly looking root that tastes oh so good in so many things like Thai food and Indian food, is great for our natural beauty as well.  Ginger improves the condition of the skin by reducing inflammation while allowing your skin to radiate with healthiness as the ginger invigorates and refreshes.

For a homemade cream that will help you get rid of old flaky dry skin that looks dull, try making a luscious cream of ginger root and apricot oil with a little Vitamin E oil!

Ginger Apricot Dry Skin Cream

  • 2-inch piece of fresh ginger
  • 2 teaspoons light sesame oil
  • 2 teaspoons apricot kernel oil
  • 2 teaspoons vitamin E oil
  • ½ cup cocoa butter

Set oven on low and preheat. Finely grate the ginger to make an 1/8 teaspoon of ginger “juice.” Gently squeeze the freshly grated ginger over a small bowl. Place the ingredients (including the ginger) in a heat-proof holder and heat just until the cocoa butter is melted and the oils are blended. Pour into a clean, dry container and store in a cool dry place.   For a little more deliciousness and a citrus smell, add a drop or two of orange essential oil to the mixture.

To apply, rub the cream in small circles using an upward motion to firm and tighten the skin.   This ginger cream is a wonderful night cream, especially for you healthy senior women who need a little extra moisturizing to cut down on the damage and appearance of aging!
