Energy Drinks - Natural Health???

When you can’t eat the right foods for energy and you have an important meeting or you want to work out in the afternoon, should you reach for one of the many energy drinks on the market now?  There’s Red Bull and Monster and 5 Hour Energy and Rockstar and on and on.  Here’s what Rockstar has to say about itself:

Kind of makes you want to run out and get some, no?  Better stop and check out the ingredients before you gulp one down.  Lots of sugar, lots of sugar (so much I had to repeat it twice!) and lots and lots of caffeine.  Is that what we naturally beautiful women want to be putting in our bodies?  I don’t think so!

And calories??? One can of Red Bull has 150 calories – just think of how much really good energy food you could be consuming – food that would keep you healthy, energized, disease free, with beautiful skin and hair.

If you want energy, don’t reach for that shiny can full of caffeine and sugar – you might get a slight burst of energy that will feel like a high and keep you going for a minute, but your blood sugar will tumble when the sugar and caffeine are used up, and you’ll be even more fatigued than you were before.  So for real true energy – eat the right foods, drink plenty of water, think positively, get a good night’s sleep – all these things will keep you a naturally beautiful woman and a healthy senior woman!

E is for Energy – Eat for Extra!

Eat Energy Foods for Natural health

It’s 2:00 in the afternoon and your head is starting to droop and your eyes are starting to close and you’re feeling drained and depleted.  Take a look at what you’ve eaten during the day and maybe this is why you’re tired so early in the day.  Many people who get tired in the afternoon have not eaten breakfast – and I think breakfast is the most important meal of the day!  When you eat a powerhouse breakfast full of protein and complex carbohydrates, you can go for a few hours bursting full of exciting energy to get things done, have some fun, get some exercise and still have more than enough energy to get you — UNTIL LUNCH!  That’s right, you will have much more sustained energy if you keep eating all through the day – keeping your blood sugar constant, and keeping your energy levels at high level all day.

There are certain foods you can eat that will give you more energy than most -

  • Blueberries
  • Beans
  • Oatmeal
  • Strawberries
  • Nuts
  • Spinach
  • Salmon
  • Mango
  • Tea
  • Peppers
  • Chia seeds
  • Low fat dairy products
  • Cantaloupe
  • Whole grains
  • Citrus fruit

By eating the right foods and not skipping meals (which will pull your energy levels and your eyelids right down to the ground), you will be vibrant and lively all day long.  Carry nuts and fruits for a mid-meal pick me up when you can’t sit down and eat a whole and wholesome meal.

And for the most sustained and consistent energy, always remember to keep your body hydrated by drinking lots of pure, clean water or herbal tea.
