I is for Isis, Invoker of Intuition and Illumination

What if you could see ahead into the future and feel and know what is going to happen?  What if you knew today what could improve your natural health for tomorrow?

Isis is the Egyptian High Priestess of intuition and insight.  She’s a powerful goddess to call upon to help you see into the future and develop your psychic awareness.  Isis, also called the “Mother Goddess” and one of Love’s rulers, helps us naturally beautiful women to trust and follow our intuition, to know that we have healing ability, and to open us up to the creativity that is part of our Divine being.

Intuition, sometimes referred to as “gut feeling,” is a powerful tool which can help us determine what is our truth and what is going to benefit us.  Intuition is hard to define as it is often quirky, always unexplainable, and not founded in any kind of worldly logic.  How often have you felt something to be right without any logical or reasonable way of explaining it?

A lot has been said about “women’s intuition,” the province of Isis.  Women have been shown to have a better ability to discern the nuances of body language and gestures, tone of voice and facial expressions.  The brains of women are wired differently from those of men – with more nerve cables between the right and left sides – which might explain why they are more able to connect seemingly disparate pieces of information.  Or it might be that many women are just more interested and aware of people, and more apt to enter into deep and spiritually insightful conversations.

By sitting in the silence of meditation and invoking the Goddess Isis, we naturally beautiful women can learn to trust our inner feminine wisdom. Sitting quietly, we are able to hear.  Quiet the mind by focusing on the breath or a word like “Om.”  Don’t analyze.  Don’t think.  Don’t strain.  Be open to all thoughts that pass through, letting them go as easily as they come in.  Allow the wisdom of Isis to open your inner eyes to possibilities.

When you listen to your intuition through the guidance of Isis, it can connect you and your feelings and emotions to a greater knowledge.   Like any habit that takes time to develop and any muscle  you must continue to exercise, your intuition can be trained and improved and grown.  As you go through your day you will begin to notice things, to see signs that might point the way.  Learn to trust and have faith in  your “gut feelings” and hunches.   The more often you use your “women’s intuition,” the more often you will be guided in the right direction.  And know also that if something doesn’t feel right, chances are it isn’t.

As you become more and more intuitive, trust that Goddess Isis is taking care of you, giving you insights into your best possible life, your Goddess-given right to natural health and  natural beauty.

I radiate with wisdom

I know the answers

My wisdom is reality; all else is illusion

I trust my wisdom and insight

I trust in my higher self

I hear and honor my intuition

I have the courage to follow my instincts

D is for Diana – GoDDess of abunDance

Goddess Diana - Protector of Naturally Beautiful Women

Diana, also known as the Goddess of the Hunt, or known to the Greeks as Artemis is one of the most popular goddesses.  She is one of protectors of women and childbirth.  As Goddess of the Hunt, she also protects animals and the forest and the Earth and keeps women and the Earth fertile and productive.

Diana is the goddess who helps us to realize our goals, and manifest our abundance.  women throughout ancient history would bring their wishes and desires to altars devoted to Artemis or Diana and cover the altars with cloths of silver and silver candlesticks.  To invoke the power of Diana you can create a ritual and perform it dressed in white with white candles burning.  Call upon Diana to make your life abundant by chanting the following:

This candle I dedicate to thee

Light the way so I might see

Your presence I do call

Mother, nurturer to us all

Hail Goddess Artemis

You can also call upon Artemis or Diana to bring you abundance by using your powerful affirmations like:

  • I am open to abundance
  • I embrace life in its absolute fullness
  • I am safe and protected
  • I can do anything
  • I live life to my greatest potential.

And if these rituals and chants and affirmations don’t work, you can always play this song!

B is for Brigid – Ireland’s First Feminist – Today is her Day

St. Brigid - Naturally Beautiful Goddess

Brigid - Goddess of Babies, Boatmen and Beer

Today is St. Brigid’s Feast Day and we naturally beautiful women owe a great deal to this early Irish feminist.  February 1 marks the beginning of springtime, when all the little animals begin to be born.

Brigid, the only Irish female saint, is the goddess of beer, dairy maids, infants, blacksmiths, poets, nuns, students, and midwives.  Her eternal flame lights the hearth where women work at their daily tasks.

Brigid formed the first feminist collective – a convent for nuns where, for the first time, women gathered together to promote peace and charity and good works.  One of Brigid’s good works was to take in a young woman who had become pregnant and “she made the fetus disappear,” making her the Church’s first abortionist.  Ireland’s pro-choice movement hails St. Brigid as their patron saint because of this.

Girls wishing to become brides enact a procession on St. Brigid’s eve entreating the goddess to bring them their grooms.  They place articles of clothing outside their doors at night to be blessed by Brigid.  Young men, seeking brides, visit the homes of the unmarried women to court and woo them starting today, Feb. 1.

On this Irish feast day, we celebrate with what else, Irish food!  Brigid’s spring bounty brings us cabbage and onions in a dish called Colcannon.

Colcannon (serves 6)

1 1/4 lbs. Kale or green Cabbage
2 cups water
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 1/4 pounds peeled and quartered potatoes
1 tablespoon chopped parsley
1 cup cleaned and chopped leeks white part only
1 cup milk
Pinch of ground mace
Salt and ground pepper to taste
1/2 cup melted butter

Simmer kale or cabbage in 2 cups water and oil for 10 minutes, then drain, and chop fine. Boil potatoes and water, and simmer ’til tender. Simmer the leeks in milk for ten minutes ’til tender. Drain and puree the potatoes. Add leeks and their milk and the cooked kale, and mix in. Add mace, salt and pepper. Mound on a plate and pour on the melted butter.  Garnish with parsley.

Q is for Quan Yin – Goddess of Qompassion

Quan Yin - a Natural Beauty dedicated to Women and Compassion

I sit here wearing a Quan Yin necklace, believing that this beautiful Goddess of Compassion and Mercy, and Protector of Women will bring me all my wishes and my heart’s desire.  I have found that she has been there for me in the past and I know she will be there for me now.

The world needs to hold the power of Quan Yin dearly now and offer its compassion and mercy wherever needed.  The name Quan Yin, or Kwan Yin, means “One Who Sees and Hears the Cry from the Human World.”

Quan Yin, like her Christian counterpart Virgin Mary, looks over the sick and the troubled, as well as world travelers.  She hears the prayers of those who seek to do good or to do better and she graces them with her beauty and her compassion.
Quan Yin is most often shown holding pearls (which may be pearls of wisdom) in one hand and pouring the liquid of peace and harmony from her other hand.  She brings forth the universal feminine in her outstretched hand and holds the key to fertility and motherhood, oftentimes being pictured surrounded by children.
As the goddess of all things naturally beautiful and feminine, we  dedicate a blessing to the women of the world by invoking the name of the goddess of compassion and protector of women, Quan Yin.
I thank thee O Mother Goddess,
Who shines for all,
Who flows through all.
Thank you for sharing your time with me,
My thanks for watching over me,
Guarding me and guiding me.
My thanks for all you have given me,
And all you will continue to give me.
Please continue to light my path, and my life.
