C is for Carnelian – a Crystal for Confidence and Creativity

Carnelian for Confidence and Creativity

Carnelian, the “artist’s stone” is a crystal with very special properties for all of us naturally beautiful women.  Carnelian awakens our hidden talents and individual gifts.  It is a stone of creativity and inspires participation in the arts, especially the dramatic theatrical arts.  Carnelian increases the perceptive and analytical abilities.  It’s the stone to wear if you are feeling timid, because it instills courage and overcomes doubt and fear.  Carnelian enhances analytical abilities, perceptiveness and awakens hidden talents and gifts. Carnelian is a stone of creativity and inspiration in all forms of art particularly drama and theater. It awakens curiosity and bolster the courage of shy people.

Carnelian is a wonderful stone to wear when you are required to appear in public and do the thing that most people are more afraid of then death – Public Speaking!

Carnelian has special metaphysical powers to enhance one’s psychic vision.  This stone can be used to end nightmares and bring on pleasant dreams instead.

Some even believe that wearing carnelian is like an aphrodisiac in that it increases sexual desire and activity.  So it’s the perfect crystal to wear on the upcoming Valentine’s Day.

A Quan Yin pendant made out of carnelian is the perfect talisman for us naturally beautiful women.  Quan Yin is the goddess of compassion and mercy and protector of women.  (See previous post – Q is for Quan Yin – Goddess of Qompassion).

Y is for Yantra – sYmbols of the Divine Feminine

Saraswati Yantra for Natural Health and Beauty and Love

Yantras, like mandalas, are Hindu representations of deities and are used for meditation and rituals.  Yantras are usually very geometrical, while mandalas can be pictures surrounded by geometrics.  Basically, they serve the same purpose, which is to focus the eyes and the concentration on something so that the mind is free to meditate.

The three basic tools of Tantric Yoga are yantras, mantras, and mandalas.  In Tantra, each act of life is performed as a ritual, much like many other religions welcoming each act by prayer.  Mantras are the sounds of prayer, while yantras and mandalas are the symbols.  Chanting a mantra as simple as “Om” can make your body resonate with the sounds of meditation.   Gazing upon the circular, repetitive or geometric shape of a mandala or yantra will eliminate the distractions of the outer world and bring the focus to one place, the inner being.

Yantras are usually a symbol of one particular deity and the rituals that go with each one are specific to that deity and the special domain of that deity alone. The yantra above is the Saraswati Yantra.  Saraswati is the Hindu Goddess of knowledge and learning, of music and the arts.  Saraswati can bring you blessings in love and relationships as well as healing and knowledge.  Saraswati brings inspiration and help for artists, musicians and all kinds of creativity.  (See previous post – S is for Saraswati.)

S is for Saraswati – Goddess of Sages, Speakers, and Singers

Saraswati - for Seekers of Song and Speech

Song, science, wisdom, learning, music and art – Saraswati watches over all of it.  For those of who write, we have Saraswati to thank, as she is credited with the invention of writing. I thank you Saraswati for giving me the knowledge and the desire to write about natural beauty and health for all the many women in my life and around the world.

Saraswati’s four arms hold the power and beauty of creativity.  In one hand she holds a book which represents knowledge, in another her prayer beads for spirituality.  Another hand holds water which represents creativity.  And she holds a veena, a musical instrument for singers and musicians.

For those of us who struggle with procrastination or other obstacles to our success, we can don white clothing and offer the Saraswati mantra -

May Goddess Saraswati,
who is fair like the jasmine-colored moon,
and whose pure white garland is like frosty dew drops;
who is adorned in radiant white attire,
on whose beautiful arm rests the veena,
and whose throne is a white lotus;
who is surrounded and respected by the Gods, protect me.
May you fully remove my lethargy, sluggishness, and ignorance.

One of my very favorite singers, Deva Premal, with her partner Mitten, sing about the Feminine Saraswati principle, the Shakti, which is the power of wisdom and compassion in action.  This Feminine Principle is nurturing, mature, giving and intuitive; and is found in both men and naturally beautiful women.

Q is for Quan Yin – Goddess of Qompassion

Quan Yin - a Natural Beauty dedicated to Women and Compassion

I sit here wearing a Quan Yin necklace, believing that this beautiful Goddess of Compassion and Mercy, and Protector of Women will bring me all my wishes and my heart’s desire.  I have found that she has been there for me in the past and I know she will be there for me now.

The world needs to hold the power of Quan Yin dearly now and offer its compassion and mercy wherever needed.  The name Quan Yin, or Kwan Yin, means “One Who Sees and Hears the Cry from the Human World.”

Quan Yin, like her Christian counterpart Virgin Mary, looks over the sick and the troubled, as well as world travelers.  She hears the prayers of those who seek to do good or to do better and she graces them with her beauty and her compassion.
Quan Yin is most often shown holding pearls (which may be pearls of wisdom) in one hand and pouring the liquid of peace and harmony from her other hand.  She brings forth the universal feminine in her outstretched hand and holds the key to fertility and motherhood, oftentimes being pictured surrounded by children.
As the goddess of all things naturally beautiful and feminine, we  dedicate a blessing to the women of the world by invoking the name of the goddess of compassion and protector of women, Quan Yin.
I thank thee O Mother Goddess,
Who shines for all,
Who flows through all.
Thank you for sharing your time with me,
My thanks for watching over me,
Guarding me and guiding me.
My thanks for all you have given me,
And all you will continue to give me.
Please continue to light my path, and my life.

L is for Lakshmi – Luck for Ladies!

Lakshmi - Lady Luck for Naturally Beautiful Women

Ladies of the Blogosphere – Lakshmi is our Goddess – the one who will shine her ever-loving light of wealth, prosperity, abundance, purity, power, auspiciousness, fertility, and beauty!  She’s our Girl!

Lakshmi is the Hindu goddess of all things wealthy and abundant, yes, but not only on the human material plane.  There is a wealth of spiritual abundance out there and in here, and Lakshmi presides over that for us also.

Cascades of gold coins are seen flowing from her hands, illustrating that she blesses people with wealth.  An aura of divine happiness, mental and spiritual satisfaction, and prosperity always exists around her.

Lakshmi is the Divine Consort of Lord Vishnu and the giver of his great power and strength.  Her four arms represent the four directions.  The lotus represents wealth – but spiritual wealth.  It is spiritual to prosper and Lakshmi will bring in prosperity to us.  But her message is also not to become obsessed with material possessions, but to enjoy them and share them with all beings.

The power of chanting a mantra repeatedly is shown when one chants to Lakshmi – Om Shreem Mahalakshmiyae, Namah.  Repeated over and over (108 times), these Hindu meditations can relieve stress, allow you to focus, enable you to sleep more soundly, and quite possibly, bring in the abundance and prosperity and beauty and wealth (both spiritual and human), that Lakshmi presides and watches over for all of us naturally beautiful women.
