B is for Bananas – Boost your Beauty

Bananas - Natural Beauty for Your Hair

Bananas aren’t just great for cereal, or like Elvis, for peanut butter and banana sandwiches.  Bananas are chock full of potassium and vitamins and natural oils that moisturize and repair damaged hair.

The easiest way to get the benefits of bananas on to your hair is just take one in your hand and smash it and rub it through all your hair.  For a bit of extra oomph, you can add a few tablespoons of mayonnaise and one tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil.  You can also add some extra repair power by mixing in a tablespoon or two or honey that has been liquified over a double boiler so it is runny.

Puree the banana in the blender and then add the mayo and the EVOO.  If you’re hungry, stop here and eat it and then do it all again!  If you’re just looking to deep condition your hair, take the mixture and apply it to all of your hair.  Then let it sit for 15 – 20 minutes, rinse with warm water and make sure you don’t have any clumps of bananas in your hair.  You may have to rinse it more than once to get all of the mixture out of your hair.  Shampoo and rinse again, applying detangling conditioner if you need to.

Your hair will be moist, shiny, and looking great!  Bananas are especially great for revitalizing dry, brittle hair.  When your hair, your crowning glory, looks lively and bouncy, you will also look naturally healthier and more naturally beautiful (without any harsh chemicals or detergents – just nature straight out of your kitchen!).
