What do men really want? Do they want their naturally beautiful women to be demure and diminuitive, or do they want them to be hot and sexy?
This question is asked over and over by women, and apparently by men also. It’s been said (by Jerry Hall, former wife of Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones) – “My mother said it was simple to keep a man, you must be a maid in the living room, a cook in the kitchen and a whore in the bedroom. I said I’d hire the other two and take care of the bedroom bit. ”
Sigmund Freud defined this question as the Madonna-whore complex and said that it arose out of the desire of men to love their mothers. So they think of their mothers as pure and virginal and anything different is lustful and trampy. And they look for a woman who is sweet and submissive on the outside, and pure porn on the inside (of the house).
But is that what they really want? Do men really think about sex 24 hours a day? OK, maybe only 16 hours a day, cause they have to sleep sometime. The research in college-age participants seems to show that while men do think about sex more often than women, the subject crosses their mind an average of only about 19 times per day, compared to 10 times per day for women. Personally I know men and women who haven’t thought about sex for months or years, so if this is the average, then somebody’s doing nothing but thinking about it all the time!
You Healthy Senior Women out there, please chime in and tell me what you think. In this, the 21st century, where women are liberated and men respect our confidence and independence, do we still have to maintain the Victorian mores of sexuality, or are we past that?
