W is for Women, Wining and Wooing

Wine is great for Natural Health and Romance

A little bit of wine can go a long way in wooing a woman.  The Greek Goddess of Love and Pleasure, Aphrodite, apparently knew what she wanted when Dionysius, the god of Wine, seduced her with this blend of grapes.  Aphrodite was the mother of Eros, the God of Love, and maybe wine had a little to do with it!

Wine raises the level of testosterone in women and those heightened levels will result in a dramatic increase in libido.  Resveratrol,  the antioxidant in red wine that helps reduce the incidence of cardiovascular disease, also increases estrogen production and amps of the sexual appetite.

A particularly sexy way to enjoy an evening of wine and wooing, would be to have a wine tasting.  Just think of how we look at wines at a tasting and you’ll understand why tasting and drinking wine can be an erotic experience.  First you let your eyes feast on the color of the liquid.  Then you gently caress the glass, swirling the liquid slowly round and round, looking at the legs of the liquid running down the sides of the glass.  You sniff the aroma with your nose and hold it up to the light to examine the clarity and clearness of the color.  Only once you have savored and swirled and seen and smelled, do you then get to seductively sip and savor the taste on your lips.

W is for Walnuts – Wow them in the bedroom with these Wonderful WalNuts!

Walnuts for Natural Health and Wonderful Sex

All over the world, people believe that walnuts are aphrodisiacs and we love natural foods that wake up our wonder!  In some cultures, walnuts rather than rice are thrown at newlyweds (please remove the hard outer shell).

In Luxembourg, you’ll even find a walnut festival to celebrate the many facts of this nut.  In October in Vianden, after the walnut harvest, the streets are lined with stalls and  shops celebrating, the walnut! Walnut bread, walnut cake, walnut soap, walnut candy, walnut jewelry, walnut wine, and walnut liqueur – watch out for October nights in nutty Luxembourg!

Walnuts are rich in protein and high in potassium, zinc and iron (just like oysters, which are also valued as aphrodisiacs).  Most probably the ingredient in walnuts is the arginine, an amino acid that is absorbed into the body and transformed into nitric oxide, known to help to enlarge blood vessels and enhance blood flow to the penis (see previous post – V is for Viagra – Herbal Varieties).

Researchers at the University Malaya in Kuala Lumpur have so much confidence in the aphrodisiacal qualities of walnuts that they have produced an herbal Viagra called N-Hanz.  Dr. Kim Kah Hwi at the university became fascinated with the ancient Roman practice of eating walnuts to increase libido, he extracted a substance from walnuts to make the Viagra-like N-Hanz and his volunteers swear it works!

Even if you’re not looking to enhance your sex life, then look to the walnut to enhance your life, period.  The omega-3 fatty acids in walnuts are valuable aids to protecting the body from cardiovascular diseases by preventing erratic rhythms in the heart, making the blood less likely to clot inside the arteries, and improving the ratio of good to bad cholesterol.  If you’re healthy, you’re a lot more sexy!  Wow for the Wonderful Walnut!

V is for Viagra – Herbal Varieties

Herbal Varieties of Viagra for Natural Health

Okay all you naturally beautiful women, we’re still talking about our naturally beautiful men.  We want them to live and we want them to love and we want them to be able to make love! The Natural Health way!  The stress and anxiety so common in today’s life are taking its toll, and we certainly don’t want men to turn to a little blue pill that is causing horrible side effects and even death.

Ginseng and L-Arginine are two commonly used ‘natural’ alternative.   Arginine is an amino acid found in meat, nuts, eggs, coconut milk and cheese. It forms nitric oxide in the body, which increases blood flow to the genitals.  Ginseng has long been prized for its aphrodisiacal effect on men and has won high honors from the Journal of Urology for its ability to act as an alternative to Viagra.

Down in South America, they’ve got forests filled with plants that men can rely on to improve their sexual functioning.  Maca root from Peru has been shown to be very effective without influencing levels of testosterone or any other sex hormones. Healthy men who take maca have also been shown to have increased semen volume, increased sperm counts, and enhanced sperm motility.

The Brazilian herb Muira puama, also referred to as murapuama, is mostly known for its effective help with erectile dysfunction and increasing libido and as an aphrodisiac to increase libido and sexual pleasure.

Guarana and Catuaba Bark from South America and Tribulus Terrestris from Europe all are touted to be sexual enhancers and aphrodisiacs.  Since all of these alternatives don’t have any of the horrible side effects of Viagra, you’d be Very Very smart to try them instead – huh, guys????

V is for Viagra – the natural Variety for Virility

Natural Viagra for your man's Natural Health

Yes, yes, I know this is a blog about Natural Beauty and Natural Health for Women, but we women love our men (some do, some don’t actually) and some of their issues affect our lives and consequently, our natural health.

If your man is having a hard time – actually if your man is not having a hard time – then he might be looking to try something that will make life easier, or excuse me, harder.  Don’t let him reach for the little blue pill (Viagra) cause it’s got a ton of terrible side effects – Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; sudden decrease or loss of hearing; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; painful or prolonged erection; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue);  fainting; fast or irregular heartbeat; memory loss; numbness of an arm or leg; one-sided weakness; ringing in the ears; seizures; severe or persistent dizziness; severe or persistent vision changes; sudden decrease or loss of vision in one or both eyes; chest pain;.

That’s a turn off in itself!

So what’s a guy to do?  There are plenty of aphrodisiac foods you can try – at least it will make for a great meal.  There are oysters and caviar which are both high in zinc; chocolate for mood-lifting neurotransmitters like phenylethylamine and serotonin; asparagus and bananas for vitamins and minerals and the Law of Similars (note the similarities in shape); chili peppers for their “heat” and a little bit of champagne for the tickle!

V is for Vanilla for your Fella – Very Voluptuous!

Vanilla for a Very Sexy Evening

Did you know that if you want to sell your house, you should bake some cookies or bread?  And if you want to turn up the heat in the bedroom, baking some vanilla cookies might turn up the heat meter on your guy!

A study conducted at Chicago’s Smell and Taste Research Foundation has shown that vanilla beans are one of the best aphrodisiacs for men. The scent of vanilla increases a man’s sexual propensity and a good way to deliver the sexual one-two punch of vanilla is to add a bean of it to a glass of champagne.  If you take a look at a long and lean vanilla bean, you might notice the similarity in shape to a man’s bean, and they’re both full of little seeds!  The Law of Similars is at work here in vanilla!ll

Here’s a great recipe for a vanilla, voluptuous treat on a very sexy evening:

Vanilla Whipped Cream
1 Vanilla Bean (cut in half lengthwise and scrape the seeds out with a knife and then  use the seeds)
1 C. Heavy Cream (We prefer the organic variety)
1-2 tsp.  agave nectar
dash of cinnamon

Whip everything except the agave nectar together until frothy.  Gently fold in the agave nectar.   Serve over something warm and gooey, like hot molten chocolate cake.   Or for a night of aphrodisiacal seduction, use your fingers to put it wherever you like!
